This year our brands Unicasa&Home and Fine&Country Spain are proud to sponsor one of the toughest desert cycling competitions in the world: the Titan Desert race, which will take place from 28 April to 3 May 2019 in Morocco. It will bring together 1,000 people of different nationalities willing not only to compete, but also to live a unique experience, breaking all kinds of barriers and surpassing themselves.
A great example of this is our competitor Alex Roca, who participates in tándem due to a brain herpes he suffered when he was only six months old, which led him to suffer a cerebral palsy and a physical disability of 76%. Even so, our runner is not giving up and after successfully finishing the Barcelona Half Marathon, he is ready to give his all in this new edition of the Titan Desert.
This great challenge has this year a total of 640 kilometers divided into 6 hard stages and with an accumulated height difference of about 5,911 meters; the first part of the race will consist of three passes of dunes (instead of one, as was usual in previous editions) and in the second part of the test and appear a; the mountainña. Another of the toughest challenges for this race will be the Garmin stage in which the participants have to find their way by their own means to the finish line of the second and part of the third stage, with some 25 kilometres of navigation. In the marathon stage, which is formed between the transition of the two previous stages, our titans will not be able to count on technical help or their usual luggage to spend the night, a real survival challenge. But as if this were not enough, in the fifth stage we find one of the biggest novelties of this edition: it is a special timed section between kilometres 31 and 45 of the stage, a total of 14 kilometres of ascent with slopes of up to 14%.
This is undoubtedly a race for the brave, for true lovers of bicycles and extreme challenges.
A continuous coexistence in which, in order to reach the end, the participant will have to test both his physical and mental capacity.
From Unicasa&Home and Fine&Country Spain we wish luck to each of the participants in this race. ¡Go for it Titans!
